Broom Revival Project

Preserving a Japanese tradition.
We are reviving the cultivation and manufacture of brooms in Japan.

The broom is a tool with deep roots in Japanese life. Today, however, most brooms are manufactured overseas. At azuma Industrial, we believe it is time to reconsider the value of this craft. Since 2015, we have been working to revive both the cultivation of broom grass and the making of brooms here in Japan.

To safeguard this tradition for future generations, we will continue supporting broom-grass cultivation and expanding the production and sale of brooms made in Japan.

Broom Revival Project

A Broom Recreation Project Inspired by “Winter Desolation at Hamamatsu” from The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō by Hiroshige
The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō is a series of ukiyo-e prints created during the Edo period by Utagawa Hiroshige. This project recreates the broom depicted in “Winter Desolation at Hamamatsu,” one of the prints in the series.

5S Activities

azuma Industrial actively practices the Japanese workplace philosophy known as “5S.”

The five S’s stand for Seiri (Sort), Seiton (Set in Order), Seiso (Shine), Seiketsu (Standardize), and Shitsuke (Sustain).

Through these activities, we work to maintain clean and comfortable workplaces while fostering a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork among our employees.

5S Activities

As part of our 5S activities, we actively provide opportunities for employees to learn and grow—including the morning “Very Clean” workplace cleaning routine, community clean-up activities, and lectures. With every employee playing an active role, these initiatives strengthen our sense of belonging to azuma and give each person a chance to reflect on their own workplace.

Vision in Action Projects

At azuma Industrial, we run a variety of in-house initiatives designed to bring our corporate vision into everyday practice.

The Health Team promotes employee wellness through activities such as a walking program that rewards employees with a 500-yen QUO card for every one million steps walked.

The Connection Team organizes events throughout the year to strengthen relationships among employees, including family-friendly fireworks gatherings and bowling outings.

Through these initiatives, employees take an active role in creating a better workplace while supporting personal growth and a more comfortable working environment.
